Formal dinner table setting: start with the basics
To begin, carefully choose your tablecloth, considering its color and fabric to complement the occasion. Next, select the appropriate dishes and glassware to showcase your culinary delights and beverages. Place each item in the proper position to create an organized and visually appealing table arrangement:
Place the dining set on top of the tablecloth and put a service plate on top of it. Place the dinner plate on top of the service plate and the soup bowl or soup plate on top of it. The knife goes to the right of the plate, with the blade facing inward. The spoons go to the right of the knive and the forks on the left of the plate, with the salad fork on the outside. Place the bread plate to the left of the forks, with the butter knife placed diagonally across it. The white wine glass goes to the right of the water glass, and the red wine glass goes to the right of the white wine glass. Set a dessert spoon above the dinner plate.
