Bjørn Wiinblad was born in Copenhagen in 1918 and died in 2006. He studied painting and illustration at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen under Jörgensen. It was during this time that he discovered his love for ceramics.

Bjørn Wiinblad took inspiration from music, theatre and from the world of fairy tales. He designed ceramics using a range of techniques, but his work also ranged from posters, postcards, stage backdrops for theatre and ballets to bronzes, tapestries and even drapery and wallpaper. He was a major influence in developing the fantastical element of Rosenthal’s studio-line with his multitude of ceramic decorations and gift items. Bjørn Wiinblad’s work is displayed in numerous museums and special exhibitions. He lived and worked in his “blue house” near to Copenhagen.

Rosenthal Zauberflöte Weiss Showplate - Round - Ø 28,9 cm - h 1,7 cm, Porcelain White

This fascinating Rosenthal dinnerware is called Magic Flute White. It is produced using the finest porcelain creating a style that is best described as formal and elegant. The dinner plate measures 11 inch. The most prominent color of this item is white. This piece is decorated with a most beautiful relief and makes you 'feel the difference'. The dinner plate is sold as a single piece. For more than one piece please change the quantity accordingly before adding it to your cart. Dishwasher suitable - With this decor the colors are burnt onto the glaze at a minimum temperature of at least 750 degrees C. The use of robust colors achieves such a strong lesion with the glaze that the dishwasher is most unlikely to do any damage to the decor. Dishwasher tests in the Rosenthal Institute for Material Technology (IWT) have proved the excellent durability of the decor. The service can be washed in the dishwasher economy cycle (55 degrees C). Please pay particular attention to the instructions of the dishwasher and detergent manufacturers on the suitability of their products.
